The Lotus Elan S4 SE underwent a complete overhaul over a four-year time frame.
\nThis included dry ice blasting and painting of all metal components such as chassis, suspension parts, etc.
\nBeing a US import, the car has a Lotus Twincam engine with Stromberg cylinder head.
\nThe engine was overhauled from scratch and underwent a slight tuning with slightly sharper camshafts.
\nThe body had to be completely sanded down to the gelcoat.
\nHere, up to 4 different layers of paint (green, red, red, original yellow) were sanded off to create a reasonable base for repainting.
\nIt was decided to return the body to the Lotus Yellow color as it was delivered in 1969.
\nA completely new wiring harness was made, because the old cables were already hard, partially cut off or hidden uninsulated.
\nIn the process, more fuses were used.
\nA special feature has this car > it was delivered in 1969 with electric windows from the factory!
\nFinally, a meticulous wheel alignment and carburetor tuning took place for enjoyable hours on country roads.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
