Lotus Elan S4 SE

Year of manufacture: 1969
HP: 120

The Lotus Elan S4 SE underwent a complete overhaul over a four-year time frame.
This included dry ice blasting and painting of all metal components such as chassis, suspension parts, etc.
Being a US import, the car has a Lotus Twincam engine with Stromberg cylinder head.
The engine was overhauled from scratch and underwent a slight tuning with slightly sharper camshafts.
The body had to be completely sanded down to the gelcoat.
Here, up to 4 different layers of paint (green, red, red, original yellow) were sanded off to create a reasonable base for repainting.
It was decided to return the body to the Lotus Yellow color as it was delivered in 1969.
A completely new wiring harness was made, because the old cables were already hard, partially cut off or hidden uninsulated.
In the process, more fuses were used.
A special feature has this car > it was delivered in 1969 with electric windows from the factory!
Finally, a meticulous wheel alignment and carburetor tuning took place for enjoyable hours on country roads.
