52nd BELMOT Classic Car Grand Prix

Here is the qualifying lap for pole in the first race of the 52nd Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. It wasn’t a perfect lap, but surprisingly it was enough for pole position in the first race with a lead of around 2 seconds.
And here’s the first race from pole, which didn’t last long.
The first time in the rain, it was very instructive.
In addition to the prescribed historic Dunlop CR65 tires, all Avon tires were permitted for wet races. With the historic tires I was 5th overall and first with the Dunlops.
The second race, which was started as a wet race again despite the dry conditions.
I went out on the track again with Dunlops and despite ignition problems in the high rev range. I tried to avoid the problems by shifting up earlier and easing off the throttle on the long straights, which of course didn’t always work.
Nevertheless, it was enough for a 2nd place overall.

50. Oldtimer-Grand-Prix

The first time with the Elva Mk7s on the race track. First time at a racing event.
Here is the complete 2nd race of the “Dunlop A Gentle Drivers Trophy ’65” at the 50th Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.
Due to a technical problem in race 1, which resulted in a DNF, I had to start further back from 34th place in race 2. By the end, despite gearbox problems, I was able to move up to 5th place overall and won the class.
Now it’s a matter of optimizing the electronic peculiarities (e.g. tachometer not working properly), the setup, checking the transmission and much more, so that the car is much better prepared for the next race.
